Martins
Dukurs
Performance Coach
Martins Dukurs joined the British Skeleton team as Performance Coach at the start of the Milan Cortina Olympic cycle.
The Latvian is widely regarded as the greatest skeleton slider of all time, having enjoyed a stellar career lasting over two decades - one which is unlikely to ever be rivalled.
Martins won six World Championship titles, six European Championship crowns and 61 World Cup races before retiring after his fifth Olympic Winter Games in Beijing in February 2022.
He won the last three overall World Cup titles to take his tally to 11 in total and - ahead of the 2022/23 season - is the reigning European Champion, as well as a double Olympic silver medalist.
Martins has previously worked closely with fellow British Skeleton coaches Matthias Guggenberger and Mareks Mezencevs and has competed against a number of the athletes currently in the GB set up.
